A Kiss Goodnight
Be the one I've been waiting for

“It would suck if this all was a dream,” He said as he pressed a kiss to the top of her head, hugging her against his side. He nodded, “Chinese it is. And I guess it’s a good thing I’ve been dying for Chinese too.” He brushed his fingertips in circles over her stomach, smiling at her yawn. He knows she’s not gonna make it home but he wasn’t going to say anything, deciding to let her sleep as he headed towards the Chinese food place. He wasn’t gonna wake her up, they’ve been doing a lot today and she said she was tired. So, while she was sleeping, he got the Chinese food, called his mom to let her know they were heading home, went back home, unloaded everything from the truck and put it up in the room where the nursery would be. And his mom was painting, even though he told her he could do it and she didn’t have to, but she insisted, like she always does. Once he had everything upstairs, he came back and got Rachel, opening the door to find her waking up. “Everything’s upstairs already, sleepyhead,” He chuckled a bit and then lifted her out of the truck, setting her down as she grabbed the bag of food. “I guess it was a good thing I let you sleep,” He let go of her hand as she headed upstairs, dropping the food off in the kitchen and then bounding up the stairs behind her. He leaned against the door frame as she watched her react to the nursery, a smirk on his face. That’s exactly the look on her face that he wanted to see, and he loved that look. He wrapped his arms around her when she buried her face in his chest, “I think you’ve got this backwards.” He pressed a kiss to her head before, pulling away, “I’ll go get use some food, I’ll be back.”

Rachel wiped her face, watching him leave with a smile on her face before turning around, looking around the room. Ava came over, putting her arm over her shoulder. “Looks great, right? My grandbabies are so spoiled!” Rachel laughed, nodding her head in agreement. Between her, Noah, and Ava, their babies were going to be spoiled. Ava left as Rachel turned on the light, loving how the room looked. Sitting down in the rocking chair they got, she smiled as Noah came in with their food. “It’s sort of surreal… doing all of this. Like, it finally hits you that they really are going to be here soon. We’re almost half way there. We’re getting their room all ready, I’m eating foods I normally can’t stand because they want it. I mean… it’s now where I get so excited and nervous at the same time.” She took her container from him, taking a bite out of her food. “We’re going to be a mom and a dad now. I know that there are a lot of things I won’t know until we are in that situation, but I still want to read every book I can get my hands on so that I can be the best mom I can be. I want our daughters to grow up with an amazing life and know how hard we worked to make sure they have the best life possible.” She smiled softly, before leaning over and kissing him. “Thank you, for giving them to me.”
