He chuckled a bit, pressing a kiss to the top of her head, “We can definitely take a nap when we get home. And we’ve got months to do this, so if you get tired and want to go home, we can. We still have time to get the room together.” He wanted her to know that she didn’t have to do this, they had a long time until the babies were born. And he couldn’t wait, but he didn’t want her stressing out over something they had time to discuss. “I think that’s a good place to start,” He made a turn that would lead them to the little place Rachel was talking about, pulling into the parking lot a few moments later and getting out. Before she had the chance to even open her door, he was on her side and helping her get out so she wouldn’t have to exert too much energy. He locked his truck as they walked towards the entrance, holding the door open for her as they stepped inside. Honestly, this was all a little overwhelming considering he had no idea where to even start. So he was really happy that Rachel had some sort of plan going, “That sounds awesome, baby.” And he can’t say no to her, that’s a given. But he liked her idea actually, he always more of a blue/green person than anything so that was the perfect choice for the room. And she was also right in the fact it wasn’t gender specific, it could work for girls or boys. They walked hand-in-hand through the store, his eyes trailing over anything they walked by. He still wasn’t sure what they were looking for specifically but he figures he’d recognize it if he saw it, apparently Rachel beat him to it. He looked at her like she was crazy, because she was but he loved her for it. He smiled in the end, walking over to her and nodding, “It’s perfect. And I definitely fix it up a bit so it’ll look brand new.” Now that they found something, he was actually excited. He had a feeling he might enjoy this.
Rachel clapped her hands, smiling at him. She stood up to let him sit in the chair, letting out a squeal as he pulled her onto his lap. She kissed him softly as his arms brought her closer to him. As the kiss ended, she laid her head on his shoulder, looking around the store. She had been so focused on the chair, she hadn’t noticed the rest of the store, not that she saw much that she genuinely liked. “Let’s get this and head to the baby store. We won’t be able to get everything, but we can at least set up a baby registry and check things off as we go.” She got out of the chair with his help. She let him grab the rocker as they walked to the front of the store. She smiled at the older woman behind the counter, seeing Noah come up beside her. “Hello there! How far along are you?” Rachel put a hand on her belly, smiling a bit. “Fourteen weeks.” She loved talking about her pregnancy. Really, she had it easier than most, considering she didn’t have morning sickness, but she just loved being able to have her body take care and raise something so tiny. “You are so big!” Rachel chuckled a bit, biting her lip. “We’re having twins.” The older woman’s eyes widen and Rachel look over at Noah who was trying not to laugh. She held her hand out for him to give her the sonogram picture. Once she had it, she showed it to the older woman, who was smiling at her. “Oh wow. They look beautiful.” Rachel nodded, before looking back at her. “How much for the rocker?” “Normally seventy dollars, but for you two, it’s free.” Rachel gaped at the woman, trying to find the words to speak. “I know what it’s like to be very young and trying to start a family. Just promise me you’ll love these two with every inch of your hearts.” Rachel nodded, tearing up a bit. “We will.”
It was incredible that all of this was happening, seriously. Sometimes he just has to stop and make sure this was really...
